Mystery Vessels

From time to time in our research and in our travels, we run across boats and ships, past and present, that we are unable to identify. The photos posted here are examples of such vessels. We do not have names for most of them, and for those we do, we have few if any details of their history. Click on the thumbnail images to enlarge and to view all known information about each vessel.

For those of you with “mystery vessels” of your own that you would like help in identifying, whether you are a researcher, enthusiast, or simply curious about a ship in a photo in an old family album, we will gladly post them here. Please e-mail us with a photo of the vessel and any pertinent information that you may have, such as the date and location of the photo if known.

If you are able to provide identification or other information for any of the vessels pictured here, please e-mail mysteryvessels@northeasternmaritime.org. Your help is appreciated!
