If you are looking to go into the importing and exporting business but do not know what kind of stuff to import and export, don’t feel whiplash over it! Here are a few things to think about when coming into your business. Think about the availability of the product in America.
There are things that just do not grow around a certain area and perhaps they would need that product shipped to them. Also think about the cachet of the product. Champagne and caviar have an image of richness associated with them, so their classiness is a factor in their desire for shipping to the United States.
The same could be said for products like Egyptian cotton, German beer, and French perfume and cologne. While these products may come with the bigger price tag (and be shipped over for those reasons), sometimes the items that are cheaper in other countries need to be shipped here because of their low cost. This is often associated with toys and electronics from foreign areas in which the price is reduced.
