The Maritime Industry Is Far Behind On Internet Marketing
Being a fisherman and haing worked in the maritime industry (primarily fishing vessels) for a very long time I know that many providers of goods like fishing tackle as well as sportfishing boats are so far behind in this age of technology. If you find a company that does have a website it usually lacks in many modern functions.
For instance take a sportfishing vessel that is used to take people out for a fun day of deep sea fishing. They may have a website up but that’s it, they don’t realize that unless they do some research and make a determination who is the best SEO company for marketing their website it is nothing more than a business card. People will not know they exist unless you hand to them.
This industry is very hard to break. They’ve long been somewhat of a “good ol boy” industry where a hand shake is all that’s needed. I hope that someday soon they’ll realize the day and age we live in, otherwise so many skippers from this once great industry will fail.
